Harper Bliss

Harper Bliss is a Belgian author specialising in lesbian romance fiction. She is best known for her High Rise series and the novels French Kissing and Pink Bean. Her work often explores emotional depth, romantic tension and queer relationships. Bliss co-founded Ladylit Publishing, an independent press specialising in lesbian fiction.

Born in Belgium, Harper Bliss spent many years living abroad, including an extended period in Hong Kong. During this time, she lived with her wife and wrote full-time. She later moved to Ghent, a city which she describes as her favourite. She currently lives with her wife, Caroline, and their cat, Dolly Purrton.

Harper Bliss began her writing career with lesbian romance and erotica. She gained attention with the High Rise series and has continued to build a devoted readership ever since. She describes her writing as "emotional and steamy", aiming to capture "love, passion, and a touch of drama".

More recently, she developed the BlissVerse, a fictional universe linking her celebrity romance novels. The stories in this universe are loosely connected, enabling characters to reappear while ensuring that each novel can be enjoyed as a standalone.

Her latest novel, Still the One (2023), revisits the theme of second chances. It follows Mac and Jamie, two women reunited after twenty years apart. Jamie once left Mac for another woman, a decision that caused lasting heartbreak. At a mutual friend’s wedding, they meet again. Mac is still hurt, while Jamie feels guilty.
